Bill
Mahaney
Bill is presently working on other fiction stories
centered on special military operations in South America and Eurasia
during World War II and on non-fiction geology in the same locales.
He continues to travel and carry out environmental research in
various mountainous parts of the world. Bill is a member of a
number of scientific societies and in 1993 he received the G.K.
Gilbert Award of the Association of American Geographers for his
book ‘Ice on the Equator’ documenting the geological
history of Mount Kenya, one of the major tropical mountains of
